I wanted to add my creative touch to the day and create and edit this video.
FOX19 (WXIX): Footage I gathered during a men’s basketball game (Newport vs. Holy Cross). After grabbing the highlights, I would go back to the news studio to quickly edit them together before the live show at 10:00pm.
FOX19 (WXIX): 9th Region Semifinals (Beechwood versus Cooper). I loved the environment in BB&T arena! This was a close game that went to overtime… but Beechwood pulled through to go to their first regional final in 70 years.
Bob Feller Act of Valor Award: I interviewed National Baseball Hall of Famer Randy Johnson at the 2019 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Ceremony in Washington D.C. on November 14th, 2019.
Johnson, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015, started his career in the majors in 1988 with the Montreal Expos. “The Big Unit” ended his career in 2009 as a 5x Cy Young winner, 10x All Star, and a triple crown season. Johnson currently holds the record for most strikeouts for a lefty. His 4,875 strikeouts rank No. 2 all-time behind Ryan’s 5,714, and his 10.61 strikeouts per nine innings rank first all-time.
Bob Feller Act of Valor Award: I interviewed MLB pitcher Ian Kennedy at the 2019 Act of Valor Award Ceremony in Washington D.C. on November 14th.
Kennedy debuted in the majors in 2007 with the New York Yankees. Ian now plays for the Kansas City Royals. Since 2014, Ian and his wife Allison hosted different military and first responder groups to a fully catered suite to every Saturday home game.

FOX19 (WXIX): Toledo Walleye at the Cincinnati Cyclones
Cyclones fans are always stacking up their empty beer cans on the glass. It takes just one shove, one misplace of a can, or one knock on the glass to get those cans to come rumbling down.
At the end of this video you can see one’s fan “beer-a-mid” plummet down
